Abogados de Blockchain (Blockchain Lawyers) is a portal specializing in legal advice on blockchain technology, cryptoassets, cryptocurrencies, smart contracts, asset tokenization, DeFi, and NFTs. It is a project of Algoritmo Legal (www.algoritmolegal.com), a pioneering Spanish law firm specializing in artificial intelligence, blockchain, software contracts, and technology businesses, with offices in Madrid and Barcelona.
Abogados de Blockchain was created to address a clear need: the crypto and blockchain world requires lawyers who not only know the law but also understand the technology. At Algoritmo Legal, we have spent several years advising companies, entrepreneurs, and investors operating in this ecosystem, speaking their language and accompanying them from project design through to full legal implementation. Our clients include some of the world’s leading crypto exchanges, projects admitted to the Spanish financial sandbox, and companies formalizing their operations under the MiCA Regulation in the European Union.
What We Do
We provide legal advice on all legal aspects of blockchain technology: regulatory compliance under the MiCA Regulation, anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing for crypto-asset service providers (CASP), authorization before the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) and ESMA, review of smart contracts, data protection in blockchain environments, intellectual property and NFTs, tokenization of real assets, structuring of DAOs, launching of ICOs and DeFi projects, and legal defense of investors and consumers affected by fraud and scams in the crypto ecosystem.
Our attorney Ricardo Oliva León, managing partner of Algoritmo Legal, has a proven track record in the sector: in 2025, he secured a Spanish court order for the first seizure and freeze of a cryptocurrency wallet hosted on the OKX exchange, based in the Seychelles, Africa. In 2024, he advised Luso Digital Assets, one of Portugal’s leading crypto exchanges, on its entry into the Spanish market through a technology provider in that country. In 2023, he advised Bitfinex, one of the world’s ten largest crypto exchanges by market capitalization, on a strategic operation carried out in Spain.
